Altered Atlas is a collaged series constructed with images captured over decades of alpine travel – skiing, hiking, and climbing in the Rockies, Alps, Japan, and beyond. Printed on inkjet, cut by hand, and sewn together, each piece assembles fragments of place into something that resembles memory more than map. Loose threads hang deliberately, marking the human hand and echoing climbing ropes, ski routes, and the fraying of recollection over time. Patterns drawn from analog print traditions treat distortion as authenticity rather than error. Each piece has its own internal weather system, with static electricity and humidity randomly animating the loose threads beneath the glazing, season to season. This is an abstract, unnavigable atlas, altered by time, touch, climate, and imperfect memory.

Exhibition opening at Aspen Collective Gallery on 3/14/26
