Happy Friday People, I’m one week into a two-week Japanese woodblock printmaking workshop with Hiroki Morinoue at Anderson Ranch. It feels great to be learning a new craft, and I’m absolutely loving the tactility and precision required. It took me four days of trying, but today I made a print that I actually liked. It’s hard to deny the beauty of something that is truly handmade. I’ll continue making prints when we move to Tokyo this January, as it can be done almost anywhere you can set up a table. I’ll have access to amazing local papers and precision tools, and can’t wait to dive into the rich culture of Japanese printmaking. So I’ll be sharing more on this front for sure. Speaking of Japan — to get ready for our coming move, I’m doing a sale of all of my work that is currently on view in Boulder / Denver.
