Greetings fellow humans, We just had a guy with a flamethrower try to set a bunch of people on fire on the Pearl Street Mall. My friend Howie and I were having lunch a block away at Illegal Pete’s when it all went down. We watched the protesters walk by, then about 20 minutes later we heard the sirens. In BOULDER!!! What the FUCK. So, I have been thinking a lot about how and why something like this can happen in our little town. And how and why something like this would never happen in Japan. Which makes me love and miss Japan even more. It feels like the fear and hate in our country is ratcheting up to new levels. Which is just scary and sad. I have more thoughts on this, below. In other less depressing news, I have some fun art and vinyl events this month: I’ll be hosting two vinyl listening sessions at Top Hat Supply for Journeys on Fri 6/13 + Sat 6/14. Shows start at 8pm sharp both nights. Seating is limited to 20 spots, and tickets are available here. I’m pretty excited about my solstice themed set list! My new project Expansion is going to be on view at Studio Como’s stunning new space in downtown Aspen, along with a Bocci lighting pop-up. We’re planning a few fun vinyl events there as well: Fri 6/20 @ 4-6pm Apertivo + JK vinyl DJ set Sat 6/21 @ 4-6pm Apertivo + JK vinyl DJ set Sat 6/21@ 8:30pm Summer Solstice Silent Listening Vinyl set (20 spots, reservation required) A full calendar of events for Studio Como Aspen, along with RSVP links, are here. I hope to see you for some art and music soon! Thanks again for reading. Jamie
