Heyyyoooooooooo… This morning, I woke up and I felt pretty crappy. And my back hurt. After a strong coffee and time trying (unsuccessfully) to read an essay by Dave Hickey, I was losing hope. I wasn’t inspired to do anything, didn’t want to go to the studio, to write this newsletter. Somehow, I decided to go for a bike ride instead. Of course, I felt better once I was out on my bike in the sun...moving...breathing…being in nature. A bunch of ideas came to me that got me very excited to get back into the studio. And of course, my back didn't hurt anymore. As Tom Sachs says, "output before input." Today was a reminder of that. It's so easy to wake up and look at the news (ugh) or scroll on Instagram (ick), and never generate the momentum required to make something. Output before input indeed! ALSO...I’ll be showing Expansion at the Aspen Design Conference over Labor Day weekend, from Thu 8/28 - Tue 9/2. AND I'll be hosting a vinyl listening session exclusively for ADC attendees.
