Hi, I’m back from a great week in British Columbia. After 7 days without wifi or phone service, I returned to the grid, and to an overwhelming pile of emails, messages, and voicemails. That’s the bargain we make with technology — we gain speed, flexibility and convenience, but in return we’re expected to have our devices on / near us at all times, and to navigate upstream through an ever flowing river of zeroes and ones. This reminded me of a great quote about John Baldessari, artfully mumbled by Tom Waits: “John Baldessari is so successful that he carries absolutely nothing in his pockets.” Thanks for reading, Jamie
