Hi.
So much of creativity is simply about staying in motion, and just taking that next step, even if you don’t know which way to step. Last summer, I put my camera away in order to spend time making prints. The first prints were pretty bad, and I felt unmoored, an aimless wanderer mired in self doubt. But I stuck with it, week after week. The prints slowly improved, and got progressively closer to what I was going for. Eventually, the work got to where I thought about sharing it, which I’ll be doing via an opening later this Summer. More info on that coming soon… After about six months of making prints, I suddenly had an idea for my next project, which will combine photography and printmaking. In retrospect, this seems like an obvious idea, but it took some months of taking those small wandering steps for it to present itself, and for me to see it. So, it feels good to know that I’m working toward my next show at the end of the Summer, and probably another show after that. Thanks for reading, Jamie
And, speaking of staying in motion, the new Spoon album (their 10th) is pretty great.
